A yard's machinery problem is that the jobs are small and constant. Paddocks need topping, muck needs moving, bedding and feed need carrying, and the school surface needs working over. None of it justifies a tractor, and all of it takes somebody's morning.

Noise is the part that decides it. An electric drive is quiet enough to work near stabling and early enough to fit round a yard's routine, and there is no exhaust in a barn or an indoor school.

The trailer does the haulage — five hours of it on one charge — and the flail mower tops paddocks and knocks back the rougher corners that get away over a wet summer. The sweeper takes the yard itself — 1.1 metres of rotary brush over hard standing and stable aisles, indoors as readily as out, since there is no exhaust to worry about.
