How the AFT-e1 works

Every system on the machine, and what each one means when you are stood behind it.

The Aftrak hot-swap battery: a black LiFePO₄ pack with carrying handles and Anderson connectors

Hot-swap battery

5.2 kWh LiFePO₄, changed in under a minute

  • A second pack turns a five-hour day into a ten-hour day with no downtime
  • One hour to recharge at 1 C, from mains or from a solar module
  • Charging and the electric PTO share one Anderson connector
  • No fuel to buy, carry, store or have stolen

Electric drivetrain

8 kW, three forward gears and two reverse

  • Full torque from rest, which matters when a tool bites
  • A settable throttle, so the same job runs at the same speed each pass
  • No warm-up, no fuel, no oil changes and no exhaust in a polytunnel
  • Quiet enough to work near livestock, housing and the public

PTO

Drives all sixteen attachments

  • One machine covers tillage, ridging, mowing, harvesting and haulage
  • Attachments change in the field, with hand tools
  • Implements can be bought locally rather than only from us
  • One spares list covers the whole range

ePTO

Anderson connector for pumps and threshers

  • Runs a pump or a thresher without a separate generator
  • Uses the charging connector, so no extra hardware
  • Makes the tractor a power source on sites with no mains
  • Static work with no fuel and no fumes

Lockable differential

Turn tightly, or pull straight through soft ground

  • Turns tightly in tunnels, walled gardens and between beds
  • Locked, it keeps pulling when one wheel drops into a furrow or a wet patch
  • Set by hand, without tools, while working

Rotating handlebars

Front- and rear-loaded tooling on one machine

  • Front- and rear-loaded tooling on one machine
  • The operator stays behind the work, not beside it
  • Adjustable height suits different operators
  • Folds down to fit a van or a pickup bed
Operator controls and gear selection

Clear user display

Throttle, charge and named fault codes

  • A charge figure that stays honest while working
  • Named fault codes instead of a single warning light
  • Diagnosis by phone before a site visit
  • The record a warranty claim needs

Traction & wheels

5.00 × 10" chevron tyres on a narrow track

  • Fits between beds and established vine rows
  • Low ground pressure on prepared soil
  • Tyres are a standard spare, not a special order

Tractor tracking & diagnostics

Fleet map, battery telemetry, remote firmware

  • See which machines are working and which are standing idle
  • Battery health and cycle count per unit, not averaged across a fleet
  • Request diagnostics and download logs without a site visit
  • Firmware versions managed machine by machine

The fleet at aftrak.farm: every unit on the map, with pack voltage, current and energy used for the one selected.

Modular solar

1.3 kW a module, and it scales linearly.

  • One module generates around 7.5 kWh a day and charges the tractor
  • Modules build into a system: more of them power homes and a community
  • No skilled labour to install, and nothing to dig in
