Orchards
An orchard alley is grass for most of the year and a working floor for a few weeks of it. The work is mowing, mulching what comes off the trees, and moving crop and equipment about — none of it heavy, all of it repetitive, and much of it on ground too soft or too tight for a full-size tractor.
At 0.68 m on the track the AFT-e1 goes between trees planted for hand work. Pneumatic chevron tyres keep it moving on grass, and wheel weights or the iron wheel set go on when the ground is loose. The flail mower takes the alley and the prunings in the same pass.
Being electric matters at both ends of the day. Early mowing is possible where noise limits it, and there is no exhaust drifting through a canopy carrying fruit.
