IET Excellence and Innovation Awards in Power and Energy 2024

Aftrak won the Power and Energy category for its novel microgrid that integrates energy access with electric agriculture and deep‑bed farming to boost yields, income and deliver sustainable power.

The IET Excellence and Innovation Awards are a prestigious international programme recognising ground‑breaking innovations, collaborations and best practice across Engineering, Science and Technology; the 2024 ceremony took place at The Library of Birmingham following the Powering Net Zero Conference on Wednesday 4 December 2024. This year’s awards align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with judging centred on innovation, excellence, and demonstrable social and environmental impact.
